Todays entry is about the things we collect, another word for hoarding!
hoard [hɔːd]
n
1. an accumulated store hidden away for future use
2. a cache of ancient coins, treasure, etc.
vb
to gather or accumulate (a hoard)
[Old English hord; related to Old Norse hodd, Gothic huzd, German Hort, Swedish hydda hut]
hoarder n
Usage: Hoard is sometimes wrongly written where horde is meant: hordes (not hoards) of tourists
Most of us all have something we collect..... it can be Longaberger baskets, scrapbooking stuff, jewelry stuff so we make more jewelry, purses, shoes, ink pens, ....oh wait... that's me. Then there comes a time in your life when you realize , all this stuff is just stuff. I realized that recently....
I have over 250 Longaberger Baskets...... WHY..... I have no idea why! Now they just look like clutter.... funny huh.... very expensive clutter.
Then the scrapbook stuff..... I could open my own shop.... really.... and lets not even get into the inkpens.... that is a true sickness of mine.. I
think the purses and shoe collection are under control.... because I have no trouble giving them away..... so I don't think that is true hoarding...
I love making jewelry so I have tons of beads, but I use them and then replenish my supply so that is my reasoning there.....
Share with with me, tell me what you collect and why????
